Both children and adults tell untruths, but for children in care, understanding the behavior is essential. This course explores the reasons behind children’s untruths, how to respond empathetically, and how to encourage honesty through positive communication.
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
- understand the difference between an “untruth” and a “lie”
- describe the eight purposes for telling untruths
- describe the four origins of telling untruths
- know how to respond when children tell untruths
