Celebrate Foster Family Week Oct. 16 - 22, 2016
06-Oct-2016 - Saskatoon, SK
Families across Canada will be recognized and celebrated for their generous dedication and commitment during Foster Family Week in Saskatchewan, October 16th through 22nd.
Foster Family Week is a time to recognize foster parents and their families for the work they do throughout the year. They play a tremendous role helping
kids thrive - no matter their background - by treating them like family.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau offered thoughts on behalf of the Government of Canada.
"Foster families provide a place to call home for young people with complex needs, offering them a sense of safety and stability" said the Prime Minister. "Whether for a few days or for many years, these families make a difference in the lives of those under their care. Such dedication contributes to the betterment of communities across Canada. I would like to commend the thousands of Canadian foster parents who open their hearts and homes in an effort to make a lasting and positive difference in the lives of vulnerable children and youth. Your kindness and generosity are truly appreciated."
Join the SFFA in thanking foster parents and their families across the province for opening their hearts and providing children and youth in care safe, caring and nurturing environments when they need a place to call home.
